Data protection officer
We have not appointed a data protection officer, and we are not required to. Fewer than 20 people in our company are constantly engaged in the automated processing of personal data (§ 38 (1) BDSG), and our core activity involves neither regular and systematic monitoring of data subjects on a large scale nor large-scale processing of special categories of data (Art. 37 (1) GDPR). Please address any data protection question to contact@terranetik.com.
When you visit this website
When you open a page, your browser transmits technical data to the servers of our hosting provider (see "Recipients and processors"): IP address, date and time, the page requested, referrer URL, browser type and operating system. The servers need this data to deliver the page to you and to protect the service against attacks.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure and stable operation of the website.
Retention: we do not keep access logs of this website; the data is used only to deliver the page.
Contact by e-mail
If you send us an enquiry, we process the details you provide — such as your name, company, business e-mail, sector and the content of your message — in order to answer it.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract or to steps taken before entering into one; otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries addressed to us.
Retention: we keep the correspondence until your enquiry is settled and no longer required, and thereafter only where statutory retention periods under commercial or tax law apply (6 and 10 years respectively, § 257 HGB, § 147 AO).
Cookies and local storage
This website does not use cookies, local storage, tracking, analytics or advertising technology. The language you choose is part of the page address (/de/ for German); nothing is stored in your browser.
Fonts and assets
All fonts, images and scripts are delivered from our own domain by our hosting provider. No content is loaded from third-party services such as external font or script servers, so building a page does not pass your IP address to anyone else.
Recipients and processors
We pass personal data only to service providers who process it on our behalf under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR, and only as far as the service requires. The categories of recipients are:
— website hosting and delivery: Amazon Web Services (AWS); the website is stored in Frankfurt am Main and delivered through the Amazon CloudFront network
— e-mail and office software: Google (Google Workspace)
We do not sell personal data and do not pass it on for third-party advertising.
Transfers outside the EU and EEA
Amazon Web Services and Google belong to groups of companies headquartered in the USA. Although our data is stored in the European Union, a transfer to the USA cannot be ruled out, and visitors outside Europe are served from the CloudFront location nearest to them.
Such transfers rely on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR), under which both companies are certified, and on the EU standard contractual clauses in their data processing terms (Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR).
Your rights
You have the right to obtain confirmation and a copy of the data we hold about you (Art. 15), to have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16), to have data erased (Art. 17), to have processing restricted (Art. 18), to receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20) and, where processing rests on consent, to withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3)). To exercise any of these, write to contact@terranetik.com.
Right to object
Where we process your data on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — our legitimate interests — you have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 (1) GDPR). Where data is processed for direct marketing, you may object at any time without giving reasons, and we will stop that processing (Art. 21 (2), (3) GDPR).
Right to lodge a complaint
You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority competent for us is:
Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA)
Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany
Is providing data required?
You are under no statutory or contractual obligation to provide personal data. Without the details needed to understand your enquiry, however, we cannot answer it. There is no automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
Satellite data and persons
Our analyses run on radar and optical satellite data of the built environment. We measure the movement of ground and structures; results are aggregated per structure. We do not store raw imagery of people, and the resolution of the missions we use does not permit individuals to be identified.
Changes to this notice
We update this notice when our processing or the legal position changes. The version in force is the one published here.
